BARTHAUER with a diverse consulting concept at its own IFAT booth

Barthauer Software GmbH is planning a joint program with numerous cooperation partners for this year’s IFAT 2022. At booth B2.153, the Braunschweig-based software company will present its established IT solutions, new developments and forward-looking cooperation projects at the world’s leading trade fair for water, sewage, waste and raw materials management. The booth concept will again be realized jointly with partner DHI.

Finally, the time has come again: The international trade fair IFAT opens its doors in Munich from May 30 to June 3. Barthauer Software GmbH is represented with its own booth and presents the latest developments around BaSYS – the integrative and scalable infrastructure management system. The ten-strong trade fair team, consisting of sales, development and consulting experts, will advise interested parties on the comprehensive functions of the BaSYS software and the wide range of services.

Special partnership with DHI

Already at the last IFAT in 2018, DHI and BARTHAUER shared the booth in hall B2. The success story of this development partnership will be continued in 2022. Here, the booth design and concept take into account the commonalities, but at the same time also the separating elements of both companies.

In this context, DHI’s core competence lies in the digitization, modeling and visualization of water systems with a focus on digital services. With the joint product BaSYS MIKE, it is possible to perform all hydrodynamic calculations required for planning, design, construction, operation, maintenance and rehabilitation for drainage systems outside buildings directly in the BaSYS database, without duplicate data storage and with direct access to all simulation results. With the appropriate interface, BaSYS data can also be continued in the MIKE by DHI product family and, for example, coupled modeling for heavy rain hazard analysis can be performed and visualized in QGIS.

Main topics, trade fair highlights and special guests

The continuous further development of the core product BaSYS, new workflows and advanced modules are the focus of this year’s trade fair presentation. BaSYS opera, the new web solution for operations and maintenance management, and BaSYS maps, the modern GIS information solution from BARTHAUER, will be presented.

Visualize Augmented Reality with BaSYS

Augmented Reality (AR) is an exciting new field that is also becoming increasingly important in the infrastructure sector. With the help of modern mobile devices, AR offers the possibility of virtually embedding objects into reality in a way that is very easily accessible to people. At this year’s IFAT, BARTHAUER will be showing a prototype of an AR application that displays canal objects. The objects are generated live from the powerful BaSYS database and are directly available in the system without intermediate steps. There is no need for bulky exports. The object-sharp 3D representation of the objects available in the database thus offers a completely new user experience.

Mapping wastewater plants in 3D from the BaSYS database

Another BIM component of the BaSYS infrastructure management system is graphical data editing under Revit. Without additional data transfers, wastewater plants can be visualized directly from the database in Revit. The management and visualization of the plants are possible in a 2D and 3D modeling. The plant layout can be broken down to the individual components, such as manhole base, cone and cover. Graphical editing of the component composition optimizes the design processes in the context of new planning or renovation. Due to the database-bound administration of all elements, the generated data is available for further tasks in BaSYS. This includes a transfer of the modified data via IFC.

In addition to the product-specific solutions and innovations that unite the specialist data from a wide range of areas, this year’s trade fair presence will focus increasingly on the networking of human expertise. The following Meet & Greets are planned at the BARTHAUER booth:

Meet & Greet with Katrin Herber, bluemetric software GmbH:

Calculating Separate Wastewater Charges with BaSYS GAG The cooperation with bluemetric software GmbH has resulted in the BaSYS GAG (separate wastewater charge) application. Both companies are characterized by comprehensive know-how and many years of experience in the fields of engineering, IT and software development and continue to work on a common vision of specialist user-related solutions for the needs of urban water management. With the first joint product BaSYS GAG, management objects as well as sealed areas can be recorded in all common GIS and CAD systems and assigned to an owner or manager. The amounts are calculated automatically on the basis of the stored fee statutes. BaSYS GAG generates payment notices, serial letters and reports for statistical evaluation at the push of a button. On Wednesday, June 1, 2022 in the period from 1 to 5 p.m. Katrin Herber, Managing Director of bluemetric software GmbH will be present at the BARTHAUER booth as a contact person.

Meet & Greet with Christian Koch, Co-Founder Hades Technologies AG:

Artificial Intelligence in the Channel With HADES, AI is coming to the channel. The technology can be used to evaluate visual digital inspection videos of canals and manholes. The algorithm automatically detects damages of all kinds and localizes and quantifies them in more than 300 main and sub-classes of the European coding standards. The cooperation and combination of the competencies and products of BARTHAUER and Hades ensures that the software systems are optimally matched. Thanks to Hades’ consistent and accurate condition coding, condition assessment and rehabilitation planning can be performed more efficiently in BaSYS PISA. On Thursday, June 2, 2022 in the period from 1 to 5 p.m., Christian Koch, co-founder of Hades Technologies AG will be present at the BARTHAUER booth as a contact person.

IoT application developed with EWE-Armaturen for standpipe management

In cooperation with EWE-Armaturen, BARTHAUER has developed a web application for the management of water supply standpipes. In addition to the administration and the lending process of the standpipes, this enables, among other things, the deployment control of the smart EWE NEXT standpipes via GPS positioning and the online documentation of the respective meter readings. Data is transmitted via GSM or LoRaWAN, NBIoT and LTE-M. In addition to an alphanumeric view of the data with direct access to rented standpipes, available standpipes or standpipes undergoing maintenance, the current position of the smart standpipes can be checked and tracked via an integrated GIS component based on an Open Street Map. This gives the user knowledge of any unauthorized use and the associated unauthorized water withdrawal.

Make an appointment and secure a day ticket

Not only customers but also interested parties who want to find out more about BaSYS and the projects listed can secure an IFAT day ticket through BARTHAUER in 2022. In this way, the individual and precise needs can be discussed in the context of a personal appointment. For more details on registration, visit www.barthauer.de/ifat. The BARTHAUER trade fair team is already looking forward to exciting trade fair days and many personal encounters.
