On June 15 and 16, 2021, Barthauer Software GmbH hosted the BaSYS User Conference as an online conference, which is very popular among users. With an outstanding number of participants from Germany, Austria, Italy and Switzerland, the speakers were listened to, exciting conversations were held and new contacts were made during the two days of the conference.

All participants were highly satisfied. After last year’s cancellation of the BaSYS User Conference, BARTHAUER Managing Director Anis Saad quickly realized that another postponement in 2021 would be out of the question: “The most important foundation of our proven BaSYS User Conference is and remains the close personal contact with our customers. Of course, a virtual get-together is not comparable to an on-site meeting. But in times of pandemic, it is the best possible alternative we have left in terms of contact restrictions.”

The most important cornerstone in the organization of this year’s conference was the basic guiding principle “Understand – Network – Improve”, which had to be transformed into the digital world. A suitable platform was quickly found in SpatialChat, which simultaneously offered a large lecture area and numerous topic areas for personal exchange and was very well received by the users. Above all, the simple and convenient switching between the individual rooms offered opportunities for individual dialog in many respects. For example, one participant reported: “Thank you very much for the event, perhaps a hybrid event could take place next year. I thought the online format was very successful – saves travel time especially for long distances.”

With approximately 170 participants*, Barthauer Software GmbH recorded more registrations this year than ever before. A number that would have quickly reached local capacity limits if the event had been held in person. The diversity of this year’s event was also reflected in the program of presentations: The spectrum of topics ranged from “Artificial Intelligence” to “3D Laser Scanning” and “Integral Redevelopment Planning” to “QGIS” and “Cloud/Security Solutions”. The program was rounded off by practice-oriented workshops and detailed insights into the latest BaSYS web solutions from BARTHAUER’s development, sales and support managers.

The BARTHAUER team would like to thank all participants for their participation and commitment and is already looking forward to the 12th BaSYS User Conference in June 2022. “Despite the challenging circumstances, a very professional UC could be carried out. We hope to be able to host a face-to-face or at least a hybrid conference again next year. Of course, only if the pandemic situation allows it. It is very important to us to live the real proximity to our customers. We see this wish also with them, because already at the beginning of the year we receive numerous inquiries when and where the next UC will take place. This pleases and confirms us”, says Claudia Hickmann, Sales Manager Barthauer Software GmbH.
